Faisal A. Chaudhry, PhD, Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Scientific Research

Dr. Chaudhry oversees drug CMC development for Daiichi Sankyo



    BASKING RIDGE, NJ, December 24, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Faisal A. Chaudhry, PhD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. A seasoned biochemist with a proven track record of success in the implementation of research techniques, basic medical science and neurobiology, Dr. Chaudhry excels as associate director of chemistry, manufacturing and controls (CMC) regulatory affairs for Daiichi Sankyo, where since 2019, he has overseen the commercial side of drug CMC development and ensures that commercial applications meet regulatory requirements. Previously, he gained valuable expertise in his career as associate director of Immunomedics in 2019, senior CMC regulatory specialist, CMC regulatory specialist and process scientist for Regeneron Pharmaceuticals between 2012 and 2019, and a postdoctoral fellow at Brandeis University from 2007 to 2012.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Chaudhry honed his technical and research expertise through varied positions with Purdue University. Throughout his career, he developed a number of specialties, including primary cell culture, recombinant protein expression, immunocytochemistry, DNA cloning, total internal refection fluorescence microscopy, mammalian skin cell culture and DNA/RNA purification, to name a few. Additionally, he contributed to a number of publications, including "A central role for the WH2 domain of Srv2/CAP in recharging actin monomers to drive actin turnover in vitro and in vivo," "Autonomous and in trans functions for the two halves of Srv2/CAP in promoting actin turnover" and "Down regulation of tyrosinase activity in human melanocyte cell cultures by yohimbine."

An expert in his field, Dr. Chaudhry earned a Bachelor of Arts in genetics from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1999. Subsequently, he received a Master of Science in plant cytoskeleton biochemistry and a Doctor of Philosophy in plant cell wall architecture and biofuels from Purdue University in 2005 and 2007, respectively. Driven to remain aware of changes in the field, he aligns himself with the American Association for Pharmaceutical Sciences, the Protein Expression Group and the American Society for Cell Biology. Within the next five years, Dr. Chaudhry aims to lead his own team so that he may parlay his considerable expertise to others.
