With a bachelor's degree in accounting and management from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, Mr. Bonus began his career as an audit manager for KPMG Audit. He currently excels as a financial advisor for Lincoln Investment, and as the owner and principal of Bonus Accounting LLC. Over the years, Mr. Bonus has been able to grow Bonus Accounting from a sole proprietor firm to a company of seven employees. Bonus Accounting LLC has additionally acquired three other firms since its establishment.
Mr. Bonus believes in contributing to his community by creating fulfilling and rewarding employment opportunities in the financial industry. As a leader, he encourages his team to continually focus on improvement and continuing education. Moreover, Mr. Bonus leads his team through the utilization of new technologies and software in order to reduce costs for clients and to make work more efficient for employees.
As a dedicated member of his community, Mr. Bonus continues to donate a $25,000 endowment to Slippery Rock University for ongoing scholarships for accounting students. He is also active with the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania, the Butler County Historical Society, the Associated Artists of Butler County, the Butler County Chamber of Commerce and the Butler County Young Professionals. Furthermore, Mr. Bonus was elected as a city councilman for Butler, Pennsylvania.
Throughout his career, Mr. Bonus has been incredibly proud to obtain his license as a certified public accountant, which has allowed him to help a number of nonprofit organizations. He also obtained series 7 and 66 certifications. Mr. Bonus has maintained his professional affiliation with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountant, the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Association of Fraud Examiners and the Better Business Bureau.
For his exceptional professional efforts over the years, Mr. Bonus was presented with the Pittsburgh's Torch Award on Ethics and the Distinguished Service Award from Butler chapter of Rotary International. In the coming years, he plans to acquire another local firm in order to expand his location and roster of employees. In addition, Mr. Bonus is currently working on an online interface designed to help people with accounting and tax preparation services.
