Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

As a young woman growing up in a rural area, Dr. Durr greatly admired her family physician, Dr. Kimball. Inspired by his dedication to his patients and the community at large, she pursued a career in medicine, gaining valuable expertise with Webster County Community Hospital between 2006 and 2013 and the Harlan County Health System between 2013 and 2017. Though her career has been filled with highlights, she is especially proud of the relationships she has fostered with her patients over the years.

In pursuit of her career, Dr. Durr earned a Bachelor of Science in biology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Doctor of Medicine from the School of Medicine at the University of Kansas in 2002 before becoming certified through the American Board of Family Medicine. She subsequently completed a residency through Wesley Family Practice in Wichita, Kansas.

Driven to remain aware of ongoing changes in the field, Dr. Durr aligns herself with the American Academy of Family Physicians, through which she became a fellow in 2020. Outside of her work, she also retains affiliation with the Amateur Trap Shooting Association, the Bass Anglers Sportsmen Society, the United States Bowling Congress, Ducks Unlimited and the National Rifle Association. Dedicated to her community, she volunteers with the hospital improvement committee and participates in several fundraisers. Looking toward the future, Dr. Durr intends to remain with Webster County Community Hospital and experience the continued growth and success of her career.
