Dr. Franznick is a pharmacist and writer celebrating more than 20 years of helping pharmaceutical industry clients communicate vital information to the medical community. A gifted student with a natural interest in science, Dr. Franznick gravitated toward a career in medicine, and earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Rhode Island in 1998. While in college, Dr. Franznick drew praise for her writing ability and clear communication style, and was recruited to help create a new university program to assist students who speak English as a second language. She was also actively involved in starting a pharmacy-based drug information program at a local senior center.
Her formal career began with Organon Pharmaceuticals, in 1998, where she served as a drug information specialist. She had the opportunity to work on several high-profile writing projects outside the scope of her position at Organon which included drafting regulatory dossiers, product labeling, and training materials for medical liaisons. Gradually, Dr. Franznick began to explore opportunities that would allow her to focus on communications within the medical field, and in 2000, she served as a senior regional medical liaison and later a publications manager. In 2004, Dr. Franznick transitioned to the publication agency side of the pharmaceutical industry and served as a senior medical writer and associate medical director for Complete Healthcare Communications, Inc., before starting her own company, DF Consulting LLC in 2008. As the president of DF Consulting LLC, Dr. Franznick has served as a consultant medical publications professional to various pharmaceutical companies and publications agencies acting as a medical director for countless manuscripts, abstracts, posters and slide decks. Her therapeutic focus has been in the fields of migraine, women's health, neurology, and pain management, among many others.
Dr. Franznick approaches her work with an emphasis on scientific integrity, accuracy, and clarity of information, understanding that medical publications fall under more scrutiny than ever before. She is proud to have worked alongside scientists and executives who share her priorities, and she looks forward to continuing her independent consulting practice for the foreseeable future.
Dr. Franznick has contributed to journal articles and scientific publications, notably the prestigious Journal of the American Medical Association, and is coauthor on peer-reviewed manuscripts. In her leisure time, she has been active in community development projects and environmental advocacy through Clean Ocean Action, and has volunteered extensively with her childrens' schools as an administrative member of their Parent Teacher Association.
