Mr. Singleterry is a successful businessman who has enjoyed a very lucrative career in investment banking and investment management for more than 45 years. Since 2014, he has been aligned with GAM USA, Inc., in New York City as an investment director. A global asset management firm, GAM USA notably offers portfolio management, financial planning, investment advisory and other services to customers with offices throughout the world. Prior to his current position, Mr. Singleterry was president of his own firm, Singleterry & Company, in Summit, New Jersey, from 1991 to 2009. He then spent another five years as chief executive officer of Singleterry Mansley Asset Management Company.
Pursuing a professional path that enabled him to gain exposure to various companies and industries, Mr. Singleterry ultimately chose investment banking over management consulting so he could have a more flexible work schedule with less travel requirements. Receiving several attractive offers after graduate school, he began his career in 1974 as a junior associate with Morgan Stanley & Company in New York City and then with Wm Sword & Company in Princeton, New Jersey, until 1980. He then spent another decade with Thomson, McKinnon & Company as vice president and Dean Witter Reynolds and Prudential-Bache Securities as managing director before leaving Wall Street behind to form his firm.
An instrumental figure in his community, Mr. Singleterry has been giving back by serving as chairman of the board of trustees for the Plainfield Christian Science Church in Plainfield, New Jersey, since 2009. He formerly spent time as a member of the Federal National Mortgage Association (best known as Fannie Mae) national advisory council during the early 1990s.
Highly educated, Mr. Singleterry received a Bachelor of Arts at Harvard University in 1970. Shortly thereafter, he received a Master of Business Administration at Stanford University in 1974.
