Aligned with the Nowon Euliji Medical Center in the school of medicine at Euliji University in Seoul, South Korea, since 2005, he has become an incredible teacher. Rising from the role of an instructor to a full professor, he also had the opportunity to serve as the head of the Euliji Medi-Bio Research Institute on campus. Prior to his academic commitments, Dr. Lee spent five years as the director of the Aesthetic and Plastic Clinic in Seoul between 2000 and 2004.
Renowned for his expertise, some of Dr. Lee's research interests include maxillofacial bone trauma, face and neck rejuvenation, perivascular stem cell and wound healing, adipose derived stem cell and wound healing, as well as head and neck reconstruction. Motivated by the advances in medicine that can make humans healthier and allow them to age better, while also ridding the body of disease and suffering, he is eager about the future of treatment options. Throughout the course of his career, Dr. Lee has been influential on numerous governmental organizations in various capacities, including for the Korea Food and Drug Administration, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, and the National Institute of Food and Drug Safety Evaluation. He has also served as the commissioner of the Nowon Eulji Medical Center institutional review boards.
As a seasoned researcher, Dr. Lee holds two international patents and four national patents in his field. He has authored four scientific books, including complementary edition of "Aesthetic Plastic Surgery" in 2019 and "Aesthetic Plastic Surgery" in 2014. Likewise, Dr. Lee contributed approximately 50 scholarly articles to various professional journals, including Archives of Plastic Surgery, Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice, and the Korean Journal of Laboratory Medicine. Moreover, he has been an article reviewer for Archives of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Archives of Craniofacial Surgery.
Dr. Lee prepared for his career by studying at Korea University, where he attained a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Science and a Doctor of Philosophy in medical science in 1994, 2006 and 2009, respectively. He received his medical license in Korea in 1994 and has been board certified by the Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Korea since 2000. Eminently qualified in the field, Dr. Lee holds multiple training certificates.
Supported by several industry-related organizations in support of his career, Dr. Lee is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the Korean Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association and, among others, the International Confederation for Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery. He has also lent his expertise as a member of the Korean Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery's ethics committee.
Recognized for his expertise, Dr. Lee has received numerous awards, including a 2020 Academic Award from the Korean Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, a 2015 Oral Presentation Award from the Korean Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and a 2007 Research Encourage Award from the Korean Society of Medical Education. He also won a Best Paper Award in Science and Technology from the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Society in 2013 and two Excellent Paper Awards from the Journal of the Bum-Suk Academic.
