    MCLEAN, VA, February 05, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present William Boley Ingersoll, JD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Ingersoll celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. A prominent attorney of more than 50 years, Mr. Ingersoll has served of counsel for Holland & Knight in Washington, D.C., since 1998. His tenure comes on the heels of owning his own law firm as president and founding partner of Ingersoll and Bloch Corporation between 1972 and 1998. Mr. Ingersoll also briefly served as partner at Fried, Klewans, Ingersoll and Bloch in Fairfax, Virginia, and was an attorney for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Office of Corporate Counsel in Washington.

Leading an impressive career in law, Mr. Ingersoll has also been the president and chairman of Trust Communities, Inc., since 2000 and managing partner of JC Associates Real Estate Developers since 1973. Involved in the restoration and redevelopment of historic homes throughout the Washington, D.C., area for many years, he also devoted nearly 50 years to serving as co-founder, general counsel and secretary of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) from its inception in 1969 to 2020. A trade association for the timeshare industry, it was created to lobby Congress, state legislatures, and federal and state regulatory agencies in support of the resort development industry.

In addition to his work in the field, Mr. Ingersoll has lectured and written extensively. He also served in the capacity of co-editor-in-chief for the Real Estate Opportunity Report from 1986 to 2020, the D.C. Real Estate Reporter from 1982 to 2020, the Time Sharing Law Reporter from 1980 to 2020, The Digest of State Land Sales from 1976 to 2020, and the Land Development Law Reporter, Land Trends, from 1973 to 2020.

Among his philanthropic activities, Mr. Ingersoll made a significant contribution to the Medical/Surgical Pavilion at MedStar/Georgetown University Hospital in honor of his parents. His father, William Brown Ingersoll, DDS, notably taught at the university in the School of Dentistry as a faculty member for 40 years. His father and mother were later treated at MedStar when he was diagnosed with colon cancer and she with pancreatic cancer. Since they both received exceptional care, Mr. Ingersoll and his wife jumped at the opportunity to support the new pavilion. As a result, one of the building's family lounges was named in his parents' honor. Mr. Ingersoll also made a substantial donation to his alma mater, Brigham Young University (BYU). Over a 40-year period, Mr. Ingersoll collected first edition copies of "Books of Mormon" in all published languages (151). Only two of such collections are known to exist. He donated this collection to the University rare books collection library.

As a contributor to his community, Mr. Ingersoll is active on the board of directors of the National Timesharing Council, a role he has held since 1981. He also devoted 35 years as a member of the national advisory committee of Inside Real Estate between 1985 and 2020. With respect to education, Mr. Ingersoll was instrumental on the board of directors at BYU between 1984 and 1987. He was also on the board of advisors at BYU's J. Ruben Clark Law School between 1987 and 1993 and subsequently served as chairman between 1991 and 1996. Among other involvements, Mr. Ingersoll was a member of the Garrison Presidential Commission.

Mr. Ingersoll studied at BYU, where he received a Bachelor of Science in 1964. Shortly thereafter, he completed a Doctor of Jurisprudence at The Catholic University of America in 1968. He has been admitted to practice by the D.C. and Virginia Bar Associations, the Virginia Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, the U.S. Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States. He is a registered resort professional through The Education Institute.

Aligned with several professional organizations in support of his career, Mr. Ingersoll is a member of the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the D.C. Bar Association, the Virginia Bar Association and the Virginia Association of Trial Lawyers. He is also active with ARDA and is vice chairman of the Urban Land Institute, which is comprised of cross-disciplinary real estate and land use experts worldwide.

In light of his achievements, Mr. Ingersoll received several awards, beginning in 1973 with a National Historic Preservation Award from the National Trust for Historical Preservation. He later received a President's Award and a Lifetime Achievement Award from ARDA in 1989 and 2011, respectively, and a 50-Year Achievement Award from The Catholic University Law School in 2018 and the Virginia Bar Association in 2019. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Ingersoll has been featured in approximately 50 editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in the World.
