After receiving a Bachelor of Science in English and sociology from Western Michigan University, Mr. Farwig secured employment at Target in a variety of capacities, including as an executive team leader of human resources. Throughout the course of his subsequent career, he has held positions in human resources at the Lincoln Financial Group, Willis Towers Watson, DeployHR and SPi Healthcare. In more recent years, Mr. Farwig has served at the Lockton Companies as the director of talent acquisition, director of human resources, vice president of the Chicago Series and the senior vice president of Midwest Human Resources. Presently, he is the senior vice president and senior director of associate relations and talent management. In this role, he provides consultation services in all areas of human resources.
Over the length of his professional journey, Mr. Farwig has gained a wealth of expertise in sourcing and selecting top talent, positive associate relations, associate development, organizational design and effectiveness, team building facilitation and business planning. He is also an SHRM-Senior Certified professional. Mr. Farwig maintains his professional affiliation with the Society for Human Resource Management.
As an accomplished professional, Mr. Farwig has been recognized as an advocate for diversity and inclusion in his career, and was named among the Notable LGBTQ Executives by Crain's Chicago Business. In his community, he has offered his expertise at the Center on Halstead, where he helps with career preparation, interview skills and resume writing. He also been active with the LGBTQ career program at the University of Chicago, United Way of Metro Chicago and, previously, the board of Lakeside Pride. In the coming years, Mr. Farwig plans to remain active in his community and with his current company.
