An accomplished listee, Ms. Dukes celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Dividing her time between teaching and working in the industry as a dietitian, Ms. Dukes has been associated with several different schools as well as in the public and private sector. Recently hired as a dietary manager at VIA of Carlisle Senior Living Campus in Carlisle, IA, Ms. Dukes was a cook and dietitian at the Trinity Center at the Luther Park Community in Des Moines, Iowa in 2020 and flourished in the same capacity at The Gardens at Luther Park in Des Moines for three years. She has also found success as the Grace United Methodist Preschool in Des Moines as a cook supervisor and dietitian and the Services Council Day Care Center in Aiken, South Carolina as a nutritionist where she catered to the youth. Additionally, Ms. Dukes thrived with the Charleston County School District, teaching emotionally handicapped students from 1987 to 1997.

Apart from her dedication at Trinity Center, Ms. Dukes contributes her time and expertise as a nutritionist at the Franklin C. Fetter Health Clinic in Charleston, South Carolina since 1988. She has also excelled as an assistant food service manager for Fountain West Health Care Center in De Moines since 1995 and the hospitality coordinator for the dietary department at BMC since 2004. Likewise, Ms. Dukes has continued to work for the Charleston County School District as a substitute teacher since 1985.

A passionate, nurturing and caring professional, Ms. Dukes appreciates treating the elderly and the children. Although operating as a dietitian comes with its fair share of challenges, she believes in the importance of being flexible and open-minded, especially when working with diverse populations. Reflecting on her longevity in the field, Ms. Dukes expects to retire in the next few years while remaining involved on a part-time basis as a consultant dietitian at a local health care facility for elderly residents.

Over the past few decades, Ms. Dukes has volunteered her time to various non-profit organizations such as Meals on Wheels, the Mercy House Diabetic Clinic and the Project National Organization of Women at Broadlawns Medical Center. The former treasurer of the Central Iowa Dietitian, she was active as an alternate delegate for the South Carolina Democratic Convention and a voter registrar for Aiken, South Carolina. Ms. Dukes is also a member of the Bible Fellowship Study, a deaconess of the True Bible Baptist Church and a secretary of the RIB Women's Fellowship.

Ms. Dukes earned an undergraduate degree in nutrition with a minor in home economics at South Carolina State University in 1977. She was active as a graduate assistant in home economics at South Carolina State College prior to graduating with a Master of Arts in education in 1979. Ms. Dukes is also registered and licensed as a dietitian.

Ms. Dukes was notably affiliated with the American Dietetic Association, the Central Iowa Dietetic Association, and the Iowa Dietetic Association. Moreover, she was presented with a John H. Cromer memorial scholarship from the South Carolina Dietetic Association in 1977. A celebrated Marquis listee, Ms. Dukes has been featured in over a dozen editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women.
