Marquis Who's Who Honors Donald R. Nash, PhD, with Inclusion in Who's Who in the World

Dr. Nash celebrates a career spanning more than three decades of innovative research and leadership in immunology. Drawn to his specialty by an interest in the process of the immune response, he completed a Bachelor of Arts at American International College and a Master of Science at Boston College before pursuing doctoral coursework at the University of North Carolina in the late 1960s. After completing a Doctor of Philosophy, Dr. Nash was accepted to prestigious postdoctoral fellowships at the University of North Carolina and the University of Louvain, where he would finish out the decade.

After briefly serving as an associate professor at the University of Hawaii School of Medicine, Dr. Nash served as a senior research scientist with the World Health Organization based in Lausanne, Switzerland. He joined the University of Texas Health Science Center in 1972, where he would remain for the majority of his career in a range of leadership and education positions. From 1972 until 1992, he served as an associate faculty member, during which time he rose to become a full professor in 1992. During the mid-1980s, Dr. Nash served as the Hybridoma Core director at the University of Texas Health Science Center, stepping down in 1992 to become the associate director of the Center for Pulmonary Infectious Disease Control.

Under Dr. Nash's guidance, the Center for Pulmonary Infectious Disease Control supported tuberculosis research and community treatment programs, which left a lasting impact on public health in the region. Dr. Nash has been previously selected for inclusion in several past editions of Who's Who in the South and Southwest and Who's Who in Science and Engineering.
