Elizabeth Ives Hunter Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

An accomplished listee, Ms. Hunter celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Having retired from her position as a museum director, Ms. Hunter has since established herself as an art consultant in Walpole, Massachusetts. Aiding in locating and acquiring work for individual and institutional collections, she notably organizes themed exhibitions for small and medium sized institutions. Likewise, Ms. Hunter offers an array of workshops for prospective clients.

Previously distinguishing herself as the executive director of the Cape Cod Museum of Art in Dennis, Massachusetts, Ms. Hunter maintained her role between 2003 and 2012. Reporting directly to the president of the board of trustees, she oversaw fundraising, development, education and other duties. Recognized as a cultural hub in the area, the Museum preserves the artwork of some of the most talented artists in the region.

Outside of her work with the Cape Cod Museum, Ms. Hunter was an adjunct curator at the Maryhill Museum of Art from 2000 to 2003 and a curatorial advisor for R. H. Ives Gammell Studios Trust between 1994 and 2000. R. H. Ives Gammell, in addition to being Ms. Hunter's godfather, was notably an American artist best known for his sequence of paintings based on Francis Thomson's poem The Hound of Heaven. Among other noteworthy roles, Ms. Hunter worked as a fashion consultant and American art consultant, and previously excelled in the field of finance.

As a respected leader in her field, Ms. Hunter has held various teaching positions, including at the Academy for Lifelong Learning in Barnstable, Massachusetts, and the Charles X. and Mary E. Weny Education Center in Cape Cod. Furthermore, she continues to lecture before various groups. Apart from teaching, Ms. Hunter has edited two of Mr. Gammel's books on painting; "Boston Painters, 1900-1930" and the second edition of "Twilight of Painting." She has also written various articles about him, and has lectured on the subject of many of his paintings. From 1993 to 1996, Ms. Hunter served as the curator of a traveling exhibition called the Hound of Heaven, which included touring 12 different museums throughout the U.S. and England.

Ms. Hunter's civic duty, which has been greatly influenced by her profession, has encompassed serving as an advisor on behalf of Gammell Studio Trust, as a board overseer for the Boston Opera Association, as a clerk for the Friends of Charles Cecil Studio in Florence, Italy, and as a board advisor for the Cape Cod Art Association. She has also been instrumental in education as a trustee, vice chairperson and treasurer for the Chestnut Hill School and on the leadership committee of the School to Careers Partnership in Massachusetts. Ms. Hunter was also aligned with the Fairbanks Family in America as a secretary and board director.

An alumnus of McGill University in Canada, Ms. Hunter earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics and political science with honors in 1967. Outside of her vocation, she is active as a secretary of the Norfolk Hunt Club. Moreover, Ms. Hunter is also a member of the Saint Botolph Club, the Fragment Society, the Vincent Club and the Charles River Dressage Association.
