Dr. Agudo celebrates more than two decades of dedicated psychiatric care for patients of all ages and a lifetime of commitment to the advancement of psychiatric care as a discipline. Born and raised in the Philippines, she completed an accelerated Bachelor of Science curriculum before earning a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila in 1989. Compelled by her Christian faith to become a mental health clinician, Dr. Agudo continued her education in the United States, where she earned an additional degree in psychiatry at Howard University in 1996, and completed coursework in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Medical College of Virginia in 1998 before she became a diplomate of the Philippine Board of Psychiatry in 2002. She has since pursued additional board certifications from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) both in Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.

Dr. Agudo began her clinical career in private practice in Iligan City, Philippines, in 1998, where she served juvenile and adult patient populations. From 1999 until her relocation to the United States in 2002, she was a member of faculty at Mindanao State University College of Medicine in Iligan City, departing to spend the next five years as a child and adolescent psychiatrist at Philhaven in Mount Gretna, Pennsylvania. From 2007 until 2015, Dr. Agudo was an inpatient staff psychiatrist at St. Luke's Behavioral Health Center, working concurrently as an adjunct faculty member at the Arizona State University College of Nursing from 2011 until 2015. After brief terms as a provider for the Arizona State Hospital and the Arizona Children's Association, she transitioned into her current role as a general and pediatric psychiatrist for the Phoenix Indian Medical Center Behavioral Department, where she has seen patients since 2017.

Throughout her career, Dr. Agudo has been formally recognized for her commitment to patient care, excellence in research and practice and the advancement of the psychiatric profession as a whole. She was named as the Psychiatry Resident of the Year as a student at Howard University and presented her paper "Panic Disorder Diagnosed as Schizophrenia: A Transcultural Issue." at the 1995 National Medical Association Annual Chester Pierce MD ScD Resident Research Symposium. Dr. Agudo was named as a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association in 2013 and a distinguished fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in 2018.

To remain aware of developments in her field, Dr. Agudo maintains her professional affiliation with various organizations, including including the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the Philippine Psychiatric Association, and the Catholic Medical Association, among many others. She hopes to continue clinical work into the foreseeable future, and plans to continue her focus on the Native American population. In her personal time, Dr. Agudo enjoys cooking, drawing, travel and playing the piano, and is active in membership at the Legion of Mary, as well as in prior service as an extraordinary eucharistic minister at St. Joan of Arc Church.
