Dr. Belanus is a retired United States Navy captain and the founder and president of Centered Inc., a Christian media communications company. A graduate of Calvin College and Seminary, he completed his Bachelor of Arts in 1970, followed by master's degrees in divinity and theology in 1974 and 1986, respectively. He completed his formal education in 1997 with a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Walden University.
Dr. Belanus initially served in the United States Naval Reserve from 1971 until 1979, whereupon he was recalled to active duty. He would continue to serve as an active-duty chaplain around the globe from 1979 until his retirement in 2000. In 2007 he established Centered Inc., a Christian broadcast company dedicated to promoting reasonable strategies for cultural well-being.
Dr. Belanus attributes his ongoing success to his Christian faith and to the support of his spouse Throughout the course of his life, he has considered his daughters and granddaughters to be his greatest accomplishments. He remains active in the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Military Officers Association of America and the National Genocide Education Project, and looks forward to continuing his broadcast work and veteran outreach. In the coming years, Dr. Belanus hopes to dedicate more of his time to speaking engagements, teaching, and writing.
