Mr. Litwin, of Shames & Litwin, Counselors at Law, formed his entertainment law practice in Boston as a partner in 1988. Specializing in entertainment, sports, media and leisure, his firm has notably represented clients in matters ranging from contract negotiation and artist representation to employment contracts and copyright. His firm is also well versed in matters of corporate law, representing various entertainment and media related companies, as well as shareholders and limited liability company members. Counseling clients and companies throughout the region and nation, he works diligently to provide superb representation. In doing so, Mr. Litwin believes in the importance of continued education, especially with matters involving how the internet has exerted an impact on the entertainment industry.

Prior to the establishment of his Boston based law firm, Mr. Litwin spent years as an attorney for Bob Woolf Associates in Boston, the preeminent Sports Agency of its time. He also gained expertise as a staff attorney for the Massachusetts Supreme Court in Boston and as a clerk to the presiding justice of the Massachusetts Superior Court in Boston before going into private practice. Through his local community, Mr. Litwin has also participated in various civic causes. Among them, he co-chaired the Brookline, Massachusetts, Democratic Committee and was a delegate of the Massachusetts State Democratic Convention. Likewise, he has been a member of the Concord, Massachusetts, Democratic Committee since 1986.

Adjacent to his legal commitments, Mr. Litwin worked as a commercial arbitrator on behalf of the American Arbitration Association in Boston between 1991 and 1998. He arbitrated numerous cases involving entertainment, publishing and real estate law disputes. Apart from his legal work, he taught at the Berkeley College of Music in Boston as an assistant professor between 1990 and 1996. Teaching in the music production and engineering department, he instructed an upper level prerequisite course, which concerned entertainment law and contracts. Mr. Litwin also contributed several legal articles to such publications as the Boston Bar Journal and the Suffolk Transnational Law Journal.

Mr. Litwin earned a Bachelor of Arts, with honors, at the University of Wisconsin in 1977. Following this accomplishment, he completed a Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude, at Suffolk University in 1983. While pursuing his doctorate, Mr. Litwin briefly worked as a paralegal for Wilmer Hale in Boston between 1979 and 1980.

In support of his professional endeavors, Mr. Litwin has been involved as a member of the American Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association. He was also active as a member of the Boston Bar Association, where he served as the founder, chairperson of the Sports and Entertainment Committee, and the co-founder of the Chatham Shark Center. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Litwin has been featured in nearly 30 editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in Entertainment.
