Driven by her love of nature, Ms. Valcich pursued a career in landscaping, culminating in her current role as the chief operating officer of Mickey's Lawnscapes. The company provides landscaping, lawn maintenance and tree and shrub care services. Her second business, Mickey's Carting Corporation, provides waste removal services for commercial and residential property owners, including businesses, homeowners and industrial companies. Both companies operate on the North and South Forks of Long Island, from Montauk to Riverhead and Shelter Island, NY. With both of the aforementioned companies, Ms. Valcich also manages finances and overall operations and conducts daily reports.
Even though her career has been filled with highlights, she is especially proud of becoming a successful woman in her respective industries. Additionally, Ms. Valcich was presented with the Best Pool Design Award from the Landscape Architects Association.
Before embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Valcich completed a course in interior design in 1985 and obtained a Bachelor of Science in architecture from the New York Institute of Technology in 1987. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, she has been affiliated with the National Waste Association. She volunteers in her community through the local chapters of the Kiwanis Club and the Lion's Club, and serves as founder of the Tyler Project. In the coming years, Ms. Valcich intends to wind down her work in the field so that she can dedicate more time to enjoying life.
