After serving as a midshipman in the U.S. Navy for four years, Mr. Mowins earned a Bachelor of Science in oceanography from the United States Naval Academy. He subsequently began his career as a regional sales representative for A.W. Chesterton Company before accepting a position as the international marketing and product development manager at E.G.&G. Fluid Technologies Group. He later found success as the vice president and then president of global licensing for Phillips Screw Company for more than 30 years. During this time, Mr. Mowins also obtained a Master of Business Administration in strategy from the University of Rhode Island.
Following his military service, Mr. Mowins aimed to discover ways to utilize new technology in order to provide services for veterans in need. He ultimately hoped to help veterans transition from active duty in the military to a fulfilling civilian career. From this idea, he established Vetted Tech Inc., with which he currently excels as the president and owner. Mr. Mowins additionally works as a consultant and aerospace division manager for Industrial Fasteners Institutes.
As the owner of Vetted Tech Inc., Mr. Mowins and his team continue to use technology to provide customers with the most advanced 3D-printed additive manufactured parts. He primarily focuses his business on the aerospace markets as well as projects for the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Department of Energy. Throughout his career, he has gained expertise in quality assurance and manufacturing while maintaining his professional affiliation with SAE International, the Society of Mobility Engineers and the National Aerospace Standards Committee. In the coming years, Mr. Mowins plans to build his company before eventually handing over ownership of the business to veterans.
