Dr. Frederick J. Schaefer Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Schaefer with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. Having led a long and multifaceted career, Dr. Schaefer served as a journalist and business executive in the food and hospitality industry, as well as an entrepreneur, educator and, since 2002, a successful practicing attorney. Representing clients as the owner of Schaefer Law PC, he is a general practice attorney who specializes in such areas as divorce and separation, personal injwy, criminal defense, wills and estates. A talented writer, Dr. Schaefer published the 379-page book, "The Human Journey: A Multi-Cultural Introduction to Philosophy." He also authored "Introduction to Business Ethics," "An Ethical Sojourn" and "The Art and Science of the Rhetoric in Trial Practice."

Dr. Schaefer's diverse career began in 1974 as an editor, investigative reporter and photographer for several local newspapers before advancing to the position of a bureau chief: investigator and columnist for the Woonsocket Call in Rhode Island between 1977 and 1979. Throughout the next two decades, he held leading roles as the president and chief executive officer for American Pride Soyfoods Inc. and as the president of Genesis Restaurant and Natural Foods, Ltd. Dr. Schaefer also owned several of his own businesses and, from 1999 to 2011, taught as an adjunct professor of philosophy at Metropolitan State College of Denver. He also served as Progressive Singles Holy Shepherd Lutheran in1983 did church planting for the S. Baptists and worked briefly for Dr. Billy Graham.

A native of Denver, Dr. Schaefer has distinguished himself as a committed civic advocate, winning two terms to the Adams 12 Five Star Schools board Among his recent activities, he served as the president of the Colorado Coalition for Hispanic Education and served on the board of directors for Community REACH, where he helped oversee a $16 million annual budget He played basketball, baseball and football in college. He also served as an assistant cross-country coach and announcer for football and basketball games for 25 years at Horizon and Legacy High Schools and as a member of the 1990 Denver NCAA Final Four Organizing Committee. Among other noteworthy accomplishments, Dr. Schaefer has remained active on various political campaigns since 1991.

Dr. Schaefer received a Bachelor of Science in journalism at the University of Colorado in 1974, a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Theology -ex at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1984 and 1987, respectively, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence at Denver University in 2002. He has been admitted to practice law by the Colorado Bar Association, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the District of Colorado and the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado. Additionally, Dr. Schaefer holds a doctorate in naturopathy and is certified in coatings applications, and as a sailboat and trawler captain.

Dr. Schaefer is active with the Adams Broomfield Bar Association in support of his legal career. For his exceptional volunteer work and career accomplishments, Dr. Schaefer was recognized with several accolades, ranging from a Community Service Citation from the City Council of Milford, Massachusetts, in 1976 and a Business Excellence Award from Fairfield, Iowa, in 1980 to being named as the Attorney of the Year by Project Safeguard in 20 II. A grandfather of 14, and father to Ryan, Blake, Lindsay and Meredith, Dr. Schaefer's wife of 30 years passed away from ovarian cancer on July 7, 2020 at age 68. She remains the love of his life.
