PERRY, GA, March 16, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lossie Glover has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Inspired by Mrs. Henry L. Douglas, a high school literature teacher, Ms. Glover felt compelled to pursue a career in education. She earned a Bachelor of Science at Fort Valley State University, where she later received a Master of Arts. During the early 1970s, she began as a schoolteacher and excelled in the field for three decades before her retirement in 2000. Throughout the course of her career, Ms. Glover furthered her education with a specialist degree in reading from Troy State University and became a certified counselor through the State of Georgia.
Alongside her work in education, Ms. Glover co-founded Glover Mortuary LLC, where she remains active as a funeral director and the chief executive officer. In her dual roles, she oversees daily operations, including bookkeeping and insurance filing. In conjunction with her work in the mortuary industry, Ms. Glover contributes to those less fortunate as the founder of the Butterfly Hope Ministry, a frequent donor to I Sparkle 2 and as a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Perry, Georgia.
For her outstanding work in education and funeral services, Ms. Glover received two Teacher of the Year Awards, a Woman of the Year Award and an Academic Student of the Year Award through Fort Valley State University. The NAACP also nominated her as an Influential Black Woman in Middle Georgia. Looking toward the future, Ms. Glover intends to continue dedicating herself to others for as long as she can.
