Since attending high school, Dr. Dillon has been interested in the practice of medicine. Drawing inspiration from his uncle, a skillful internist, he attained a Doctor of Medicine from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and is certified in maternal fetal medicine, as well as obstetrics and gynecology. Presently, Dr. Dillon holds the title of an associate professor emeritus of obstetrics and gynecology at his alma mater. Throughout the course of his career, Dr. Dillon has also served as a board examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology for two decades.
Well regarded for his indelible contributions to the field, Dr. Dillon was most proud to develop a medical malpractice insurance company in collaboration with several of his colleagues. To wit, he assisted in establishing the Academic Health Professionals Insurance Association after noticing that insurance options were lacking for the State University of New York faculty. Likewise, Dr. Dillon served as the chairperson of the board for 25 years.
For his service to the community, Dr. Dillion was presented with an award from the Board of Professional Conduct. Previously, he excelled as a page boy in the U.S. House of Representatives in 1960, during which time he was able to see Dwight Eisenhower, Richard Nixon and John F. Kennedy. Today, Dr. Dillon maintains his professional affiliation with the Erie County Medical Society and the New York State Society of Medicine. He has attributed his professional success to his dedication in meeting every goal he has ever set for himself.
