Having earned distinction as a theater actress and educator, Ms. Vidal retired in 2015 from the New York City Board of Education after close to four decades of excellence as a faculty member. Her memorable career began in 1976 as an English teacher and her tenure later led to an appointment as the chairperson of the women's history department in 1984. Likewise, Ms. Vidal spent more than a decade as a drama teacher.

A talented actress, Ms. Vidal has performed in several movies, including her recent role in "The Fisherman's Wife." She also played in such theaters as Heights Players Inc. in Brooklyn, New York, and the Gallery Players, a well-known off-off-Broadway theater in Brooklyn. Among her crowning achievements, she garnered a laudable reputation for her performance in "In the Heights," a musical written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, in 2007. Earning considerable praise on Broadway, the show was later nominated for multiple Tony Awards.

An advocate in her community, Ms. Vidal is a member of the National Anti-Vivisection Society, a national, nonprofit, animal welfare organization. She is also a member of the Doris Day Animal League, an animal advocacy group based in Washington D.C., and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Professionally, Ms. Vidal is a life member of Heights Players Inc., where she has not only played an instrumental role as an actress but an arranger for theatrical performance for residents of homeless shelters between 1986 and 2003, and an executive board member and president during 1993. She is also a member of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and Delta Psi Omega.

Born in Brooklyn, Ms. Vidal attended Cortland State Teachers College. She holds a Master of Science from Brooklyn College. She then attended the New School for Social Research. A celebrated Marquis listee, Ms. Vidal has been cited in close to 60 editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education and Who's Who in the World.
