Mary Ann Zumer Reese has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

    WEIRTON, WV, April 16, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mary Ann Zumer Reese has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Reese, formerly raised in New Cumberland, WV, has been married to Donald Reese, a resident of Weirton, for 45 years and they have a son, Matthew, and two grandchildren, Kalyn and Jaxson Reese. She has been a licensed Social Worker and award-winning pet and wildlife artist since the late 1970s. Her love of animals and 20 years volunteering for the local humane society stirred her interest in painting pets. Many Ann's business began in the early 1990s producing more than 800 portraits as of today. It is her aim and goal to capture a pet's soul essence and beloved character through the eyes. Passion for drawing animals began as early as pre-school years. From the mid- to late 1970s, Mary Ann was honored to be employed , at one time, the largest pottery in the world, Homer Laughlin China, in Newell, WV, as a designer in the Art Department for nearly 5 years.

With prior coursework in Psychology and Nursing, Mary Ann achieved a BA Degree in Social Work at Bethany College, Bethan, WV, an inspired career after her mother had a rapid health decline. She graduated summa cum laude along with numerous accolades as nominated into the Scholar Program of the United States Achievement Academy and accepted into the International Honor Society in Social Science, Pi Gamma Mu. She was also elected to the ETA chapter located at Bethany College.

Her career led her to jobs for the State of West Virginia, as well as hospital, nursing home and hospice care. Mary Ann has also facilitated a support group through the Greater East Ohio Regional 9 Alzheimer's Association for the past 17 years. A creative output in writing also won her an award for poetry at the International Poet Society Convention in Washington, D.C., in 1997. For the past two years, Mary Ann has been a member of Weirton's local Rotary Club and has since designed their Chapter's new banner depicting highlights of businesses in their community.

Ms. Reese considers love and forgiveness as the keys to life, noting as she once stated "in time, people may not remember one's title, bank accounts or residence, but will never forget how you made them feel." She stated she has always striven to leave a positive impact on patients and clients through social work and her creative work.

In addition to her careers, Mary Ann enjoys reading, researching history and science, cycling, walking and weight lifting for fitness.
