Carol Elizabeth Starks Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    INDEPENDENCE, MO, April 23, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Carol Elizabeth Starks with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Starks celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Leading a long and successful career in education Ms. Starks began her career in 1963 as a third grade teacher at Hayes School, Monterey Peninsula Unified School District, in Monterey, California. Over the next decades, she taught hundreds of elementary school students before being promoted to the role of an assistant principal at La Mesa School in 1973 and Ord Terrace School in 1975. Ms. Starks was so well received that she was again promoted, this time to the principal at Foothill School. Over the next two decades, she moved throughout the district as a principal at Olson School, Ord Terrace School, Highland School and, ultimately, Bay View School before retiring in 1999. Relocating to Missouri shortly thereafter, Ms. Starks subsequently spent another five years as a career ladder assistant on behalf of the Kansas City School District between 2004 and 2009.

Heavily involved in her church, Ms. Starks has lent her time to volunteering as a committee member to compile and publish a new hymnal, board of education member and as proofreader for the Remnant Church magazine, The Hastening Times from 2005 to 2015. She has also been the music director of a congregation for the Remnant Church, and presently, for the Everlasting Church of Jesus Christ in the Latter Day. She recently finished writing a Concordance for Scriptures for the church in 2020.

In preparation for her successful career in education, Ms. Starks completed an Associate of Arts at Graceland College in 1961, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education at Michigan State University in 1963 and a Master of Arts in elementary administration at San Jose State University in 1972. Likewise, she has earned certification in early childhood education and elementary education in the state of Missouri, as well as in elementary education in the state of New Jersey. Ms. Starks also holds several qualifications in the state of California, including a standard service credential in supervision, a life diploma in elementary education and certification as a specialist reading teacher.

Ms. Starks has been engaged with various professional organizations relative to her field. She is a past president of the Monterey Bay School Administrator Association. She is also a member of the Association of California School Administrators. She served in various offices in the Monterey Peninsula Charter and as president of Region X. She was on various state committees and a representative to the state administrative assembly. She was director of the Elementary Principals' Academy for northern California. She was interviewed by the California Commission on the Teaching Profession and wrote case studies for The California School Leadership Academy.

Recognized by the Association of California School Administrators, Ms. Starks received the Region X Balance Montague Award as an Outstanding School Administrator in 1987, followed by a Region X Outstanding Administrator Award in 1988. She was also selected for the California Distinguished 'School Principal's Award in 1989 and 1993 and was honored with a Proclamation for Professional Accomplishments and 19 Years of Service by the City of Seaside, California in 1995. A celebrated Marquis listee, Ms. Starks has been showcased in over 20 editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Educational Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women.
