Mary Jayne Churchill Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Animal Care

Ms. Churchill cares for such animals as coyotes, red wolves, timber wolves, cougars, bobcats and more with Predator Habitat and the Western North Carolina Nature Center

DONIPHAN, MO, April 27, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mary Jayne Churchill has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Born in Orlando, Florida, in 1953, Ms. Churchill spent the early stages of her life in the Philippines and Japan due to her family's military service. Following this period, she received a degree in medical transcription from Santa Fe Community College. However, after many years of working in the field, she decided to focus her efforts more on what had previously been a hobby – her farm and animals. As the lead naturalist for Predator Habitat, Ms. Churchill oversaw the care of such animals as cougars, bobcats, timber wolves, red wolves and coyotes, as well as black bears and birds of prey.

In light of her expertise, Ms. Churchill was sent to speak at a red wolf symposium at Appalachian State University. She was subsequently featured in the Asheville Times Sunday paper, which led to an interview for a series titled as "Cool Careers for Girls," through which she featured in a chapter highlighting her career path as an environmental dealing with endangered red wolves. In addition to her work with Predator Habitat, she serves as an animal naturalist with the Western North Carolina Nature Center. For the last 15 years, Ms. Churchill has delighted in making a positive difference in the lives of animals.

Throughout the course of her career, Ms. Churchill was featured in the Zookeepers Journal and on several television and radio shows. Though her career has been suffused with highlights, she is most proud of the work she has done for animals. She has overseen enclosures for red wolves, bears, bobcats, timber wolves, cougars and more. Looking toward the future, Ms. Churchill intends to continue devoting herself to animals and reaping the fruits of her success.
