Dr. Brühl is a brilliant geophysicist who has been working at the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry in Mainz since 1982. During the second year at the aforementioned institute, Dr. Brühl was additionally active as a visiting scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in the U.S. in Boulder, Colorado.
A contributory background, Dr. Brühl has been participating in ozone assessments for the World Meteorological Organization in Geneva, Switzerland since 1985. His distinguished record of leadership also included appointments on the international governmental panel on climate change in Nairobi, Kenya between 1990 and 1998 and an advisory panel member for Deutscher Bundestag in Bonn, Germany during 1990. Furthermore, Dr. Brühl has disseminated many of his research findings in national and international scholarly journals as an author/co-author.
Dr. Brühl studied at Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, a public research university in Germany, earning a Doctor of Philosophy in physics in 1987. Prior to obtaining his degrees, he notably served in the military from 1974 to 1975. Apart from his full-time responsibilities in the field, Dr. Brühl is affiliated with such prominent professional organizations as the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the European Geosciences Union, and the American Geophysical Union.
Dr. Brühl was notably presented with a Group Achievement Award from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration in Washington, D.C. in 2006 (for his work in the Upper Atmospheric Research Satellite science team).
