Allen with inclusion in Who's Who in the World. An accomplished listee, David W. While studying mathematics in college, Mr. Allen became interested in computer programming. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts from Grinnell College, he excelled as an engineer at Westinghouse Electric Corporation, where he remained for nearly three decades, ending his Westinghouse career as a fellow engineer. While at Westinghouse, he earned a Master of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh. After several years at Westinghouse, Mr. Allen formed Propulsor Technology, Inc. with three other Westinghouse engineers. At Propulsor Technology he served as principal engineer, corporate treasurer and secretary, and member of the board of directors.

During his career, Mr. Allen conducted research in many technical areas including current transformer transient performance, power transformer magnetic and electric field computation and analysis, computer-aided geometric design, and the registration, denoising and curvature analysis of scanner images. As a respected voice in his field, he has written for numerous industry publications, including IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, Naval Engineers Journal, Journal of Electronic Imaging, the Proceedings of the SPIE, the Journal of Ship Production, and the Naval Engineers Journal. For his efforts over the years, Mr. Allen was presented with the George Westinghouse Innovation Award and two George Westinghouse Signature Awards of Excellence.

In order to remain aware of developments in his field, Mr. Allen maintains his affiliation with the Association for Computing Machinery and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Throughout his accomplished career, he has credited his success on his ability to learn and take on work in many technological areas. In addition, Mr. Allen is proud of his ability to work with others and derive novel solutions for technical problems.
