Dr. Wallace is a prominent osteopathic physician and surgeon who serves as the Dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Responsible for 1,400 DO students on two different campuses, she also oversees another 1000 students in six master's programs in the areas of public health, biomedical informatics, nutrition, disaster and emergency management, medical education and couple and family therapy; five bachelors programs in the area of public health, nutrition, health and wellness counseling, biomedical informatics and human development; 100 students in a post-baccalaureate program; and two doctorate programs in couple and family therapy.

Apart from her teaching and administrative duties, Dr. Wallace has been involved in medical outreach in collaboration with Nova. Having established these programs on campus, the university is now a leader in medical outreach. Visiting such places as Jamaica, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic and India, with affiliations in multiple other countries, she also recently traveled to Cuba with her medical students in 2020. Well regarded for her scholarly prowess, she has also become a frequent speaker at national and international events. Moreover, Dr. Wallace co-authored "Golden Treasury of Great Poems," and lent her creative expertise as the executive producer for Bast Records and as the executive producer for "The Love Doctor," a talk show on Station KCPW.

After obtaining her medical degree, Dr. Wallace formed her own private practice, specializing in family medicine. Located in Kansas City, Missouri, she strived to better serve the community in which she was trained. While running her practice, she established and ran the Lakeside Hospital Rape Crisis Center in 1980 and was affiliated with her local hospital, where she also worked in the emergency room several nights per week. Eventually, Dr. Wallace became a faculty member at her alma mater, the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, Missouri, where she taught as a professor of family medicine and a professor neuromusuloskeletal medicine. She served as the chairperson of the osteopathic principles and practice department, and was ultimately named as the acting dean of the medical school.

A graduate of the University of Mississippi, Dr. Wallace earned a Bachelor of Science in 1976. Shortly thereafter, she received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of Health Science in 1980 and completed a master's degree in Higher Educational Leadership and Administration at the University of Kansas. She also has a master's degree in Criminal Justice, a master's degree in Brain Based Education, a master's degree in Education – Teaching and Curriculum, and is currently enrolled as a student in an Educational Specialist program in Curriculum Development - all from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Wallace is also a graduate of the UCLA Helms Institute Medical Acupuncture program. Dr. Wallace is triple boarded by American Osteopathic Association in Family Medicine, in Sports Medicine, and in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine.

Aligning herself with prominent industry-related organizations, Dr. Wallace is a member of the American Osteopathic Academy, the American Osteopathic Association and, among others, the American Academy of Sports Medicine. She is also a member of the American Medical Association, where she was twice recognized with a Gender Equity Award in 1996 and 1998. For her tireless work ethic, writing contributions and local involvement, Dr. Wallace received a Good Citizen Award from the Daughters of the American Revolution in 1972, a Golden Poet Award and Silver Poet Award from the World Poetry Association in 1987 and 1989, respectively, a Templeton Award from the Spirituality in Medicine in 1999 and, among other accolades, recognition as the Professor of the Year by University of Health Sciences every year from 1988 to 1993, as well as in 1995.
