Inspired to enter the field while growing up with his family's business, Mr. Kirschenbaum decided to pursue a career in law. Backed by many years of experience, he presently excels as a partner with MendenFreiman, where he specializes in estate planning, trust and estate administration, and business practice areas, including general corporate and business law and related tax-planning matters. During the course of his vocational path, he has worked with high-net-worth clients to devise plans that achieve basic and complex estate-related goals. Apart from his work with the firm, Mr. Kirschenbaum serves on the Emory University Gift Planning Advisory Council. Although his career has been suffused with highlights, he is especially proud of being able to help families preserve and transfer their wealth.
Throughout his career, Mr. Kirschenbaum has been part of a number of notable cases. In addition to representing and counseling a client who made an art collection donation to the High Museum of Art, he represented a former basketball player during various contract negotiations with the National Basketball Players Association, as well as a client in the sale of assets of a specialty insurance company. Before joining MendenFreiman, Mr. Kirschenbaum gained valuable expertise in the field of counsel with Wagner, Johnston and Rosenthal, a public arbitrator with the National Association of Securities Dealers and a registered contract advisor with the National Basketball Players Association and the National Football League Players Association.
An expert in his field, Mr. Kirschenbaum completed a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the prestigious Brown University in 1978, whereupon he attended the Emory University School of Law and attained a Doctor of Jurisprudence and a Master of Laws in 1981 and 1985, respectively. Upon graduating law school, he was admitted to practice through the Georgia and New York State Bar Associations. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Mr. Kirschenbaum aligns himself with the estate planning and probate sections of the Atlanta Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Atlanta Estate Planning Council and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association.
In light of his outstanding work, Mr. Kirschenbaum has earned many awards, including an AV-Preeminent Rating through Martindale-Hubbell, and recognition as a Five-Star Investment Professional between 2011 and 2018 and Georgia Trend Legal Elite in 2018 and 2019. Just this year, he was bestowed with DeKalb Volunteer Lawyers Foundation's Leading the Charge Award. Looking toward the future, Mr. Kirschenbaum aspires to retire and offer his services to others in a consulting capacity, while also mentoring younger lawyers.
