Newman with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Newman celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Having begun her artistic career as a young child who sketched hundreds of drawings in her bedroom, Ms. Newman has earned distinction as a successful and talented leader in her field. Much sought after for her expertise as a cartoonist and illustrator, she established her business, Malane Newman Design, in 2001. In this capacity, Ms. Newman works with clients throughout the United States, for whom she provides an array of services in cartoon illustration, character design, realistic food illustration, licensed character art, children's book illustration, graphic design, and website design/development.

A versatile artist, Ms. Newman can cartoon in many different styles; Disney-style, Nickelodeon-style, Anime, and Comic Book-style to name a few. Some of her most recognizable work has included collaboration with creative directors on such licensed characters as Barbie, Swan Princess, and Popeye. Ms. Newman has also illustrated children's books, board games, magazines, greeting cards, realistic food illustration and product illustration for packaging. In her service to her clients as a character designer, Ms. Newman has designed many unique copyrighted characters and business mascots for numerous clients over the years.

Prior to forming Malane Newman Design, Ms. Newman's was employed with Accenture Corporation between 1989 and 2000, initially as a Lead Designer/Lead Illustrator of very large computer-based and web-based training programs. Each program included designing the graphical user interfaces (GUI), conceptualizing and illustrating hundreds of visuals and multimedia (animation, video, and audio) and in later years designing websites for many of their fortune 500 clients. Ms. Newman was later promoted to Visual Communications Director where she supervised the Art Department, staff and contract artists, and oversaw the visual aspects for all projects in the San Diego office where she was responsible for $1.2 million dollars of their annual business.

In addition, Ms. Newman held a position with Perspective Corporation in San Diego as a Lead Illustrator for PS Magazine. A 68-page all-cartooned monthly magazine published by the U.S. Army and distributed to troops throughout the world. Ms. Newman's accomplished career included a letter of commendation from the editors of PS Magazine on her first issue, and holds the distinction of being the "first and only" female Lead Illustrator in the magazine's long history dating back to June 1951.

Ms. Newman's long and distinguished career qualified her to become a credential teacher of Computer Applications and Multimedia with the State of California. Between 2004 and 2006, Ms. Newman taught ROP courses in computer applications, computer art, website design, and multimedia in the evenings at Ramona High School. In addition, she taught afternoon classes in how to cartoon, famous character cartooning, and anime for the Monart School of Art in Solana Beach, San Diego.

In supporting her professional journey, Ms. Newman remains active as a member of the National Cartoonists Society. Ms. Newman has also been honored for her work and appeared in numerous editions of Who's Who in America (2006, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016), Who's Who in the World (2006, 2009), and Who's Who of American Women (2004-2005, 2006-2007, 2007, 2008-2009, and 2010-2011).

Ms. Newman has also earned recognition with Best Business Awards by the Small Business Community of Los Angeles (2015, 2017, 2019), as well as an American Excellence Award (2018) by the U.S. Institute of Trade and Commerce. Furthermore, Ms. Newman was selected for the Los Angeles Small Business Excellence Awards in Web Design (2017, 2019) and honored with a Best of Hemet Award in Printing and Publishing for six consecutive years (2015-2021), culminating into an induction into the Business Hall of Fame in 2020.
