Cindy Daffron Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Museum Administration

Ms. Daffron has earned $160,000 in grants for the Pony Express Museum in the last year alone



    ST. JOSEPH, MO, May 24, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Cindy Daffron has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. A seasoned professional with years of experience in several different fields, Ms. Daffron began her career as a motel manager for the College of the Ozarks during the mid-1970s. Over the following decades, she worked for Hutch's Heating and Cooling and as a city clerk. Drawing upon her considerable experience, she currently excels as the executive director for the Pony Express Museum. Since 2005, Ms. Daffron has managed front line staff, liaised with financial professionals and written a plethora of grants that have brought in more than $160,000 for the museum in the last year alone.

The Pony Express Museum received many accolades during Ms. Daffon's tenure. Most recently True West Magazine ranked the Museum fourth it its "Top 10 Western Museums" in 2020. Tripadvisor recognized the Museum in its "Top 10% Worldwide Attractions" based on guest comments left on the Tripadvisor website.

Alongside her primary responsibilities with the aforementioned museum, Ms. Daffron is affiliated with the Greater Crime Stoppers Group and the Saint Joseph Museum Association, with which she was appointed as the treasurer. She was also active as a member of the Pony Express Region Association. Ms. Daffron is dedicated to her community, both past and present. She contributed to the Union Star City Government and Council, starting as an alderman and city clerk, climbing the rank to Board President during the 15 years she served.

In recognition of her professional excellence, Ms. Daffron received the Trailblazer Award for Promoting Tourism through the St. Joseph Convention Bureau in 2013. She was awarded the 2012 Pony School Award for promoting historical education by the Daughters of the American Revolution. Ms. Daffron received the 2016 Women in American History Project Award. Even though her career has been filled with highlights, she is especially proud of reaching out to children in the area, teaching them sportsmanship through sporting activities. Ultimately, Ms. Daffron aims to make a difference in the life of one child at a time.
