During his freshman year at Xaverian High School, Mr. Cerutti found himself struggling in his Honors' Classes because he felt he was unprepared for the rigors of the school's academic program. This overwhelmed feeling inspired him to pursue a career helping students ensure they wouldn't have that same terrifying feeling of being unprepared in school that he did. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Professional Computer Systems from Pace University, he earned a Master of Science in Instructional Technology from Touro College while teaching Mathematics at the Lutheran Elementary School of Bay Ridge. During his time at Lutheran Elementary, Mr. Cerutti worked with administration to implement one of the few Honors' Programs for an elementary school in the area. In the years that followed, Mr. Cerutti worked as an Educational Consultant for Kumon North America focusing on learning center development throughout Long Island, Brooklyn and Manhattan in New York.
Mr. Cerutti currently excels as the Director of Kumon Math and Reading Center in the Bay Ridge neighborhood of Brooklyn. Mr. Cerutti credited his success to his experiences gained from working with teachers, schools and students throughout the NY-Tristate region. Mr. Cerutti has attributed his professional success to his ability to relate to his students on a personal and academic level.
As an accomplished professional, Mr. Cerutti was recognized for owning the Best Tutoring Center in Brooklyn for the years 2014, 2018, 2020 and 2021. He believes that all of his students are capable of completing advanced work as long as they are properly motivated and supported. He greatly enjoys witnessing his students achieve their academic goals with continuous daily practice. Looking toward the future, Mr. Cerutti prepares to play a major role in helping students get back on track at the end of this pandemic.
