Ralph Saint-Louis Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Education

Mr. Saint-Louis applies years of expertise to his work with the Rennie Center for Education Research and Policy and Lowell High School



    LOWELL, MA, June 04, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ralph Saint-Louis has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Inspired to help educate the next generation by past several science teachers, Mr. Saint-Louis began his career as a volunteer, intern, and staff at the Museum of Science in Boston and a Research Intern for Tufts University. While balancing these passions, he served as a Page for the City of Medford Library, a Teacher's Assistant for Medford Public Schools, and a youth music program Violist Teacher's Assistant for El Sistema Somerville between 2011 and 2015.

Subsequently, Mr. Saint-Louis refined his impressive skill set as a Research Intern for the University of Zurich representing 1 of 17 countries. Returning to UMass Lowell he flourished as Resident Advisor supporting students and families, a Undergraduate & Graduate Research Assistant within Developmental and Molecular Biology Lab, and a Community Outreach Coordinator organizing toy drives for children in need as an ambassador of Umass Lowell's SAA. Driven to grow and learn Ralph earned a B.S. in Biology and a minor in STEM Education through the Uteach program in 2018. Finishing his undergraduate career with many accolades and honors most notably, Chancellor's Medal for Student Service. While working full time as a High School Teacher Ralph earned a M.S in Biology with a focus in Biotechnology and Business from the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 2019.

Ralph Saint-Louis currently thrives as a Massachusetts Education Policy Fellow with the Rennie Center for Education Research and Policy working on Early Childhood Literacy, and as well as a Biology & Chemistry Teacher for Lowell Public High School. He serves in many roles throughout the district and motivates students with innovative lesson plans utilizing Universal Design for Learning and implementing Culturally and Linguistically Sustaining practices.

In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Mr. Saint-Louis is also pursuing coursework in Educational Leadership and Management with the intention of receiving a principal's licensure at Fitchburg State University. Outside of his primary responsibilities, he volunteers with Lowell Education Justice Alliance. Previously, Mr. Saint-Louis contributed to his community through the Museum of Science's teen science leadership council staff and the youth programs staff.

Due to his outstanding breadth of knowledge, Mr. Saint-Louis has found success with an educational podcast called Bone Lab Radio. He was likewise featured in Merrimack Valley Magazine and the UMass Lowell Alumni Magazine. Although his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Saint-Louis is incredibly proud of becoming a 1 of 5 finalist for the Massachusetts Teacher of the Year Award in 2020.

For his professional excellence, Mr. Saint-Louis has been honored with the Innovation in Student Community Leadership, the MLK Distinguished Service Award, a Umass Lowell Meritorious Service Award, a Teacher Creativity Grant from Project LEARN Inc. and a Bio-Rad Explorer Education Scholarship from the National Science Teaching Association. Looking toward the future, Mr. Saint-Louis intends to equip himself with the skills and networks necessary to experience continued growth in his career to ensure all students have access to the resources they need to succeed.
