He began his career as a research physicist at the Westinghouse Research Laboratory. Dr. Argyres found further success as a research physicist at the Lincoln Laboratory and a visiting associate professor of physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Dr. Argyres notably excelled for more than 30 years as a professor of physics at Northeastern University. In his career, he has also served as a visiting professor at the University of Paris and the Technology University of Greece. Appointed as a fellow of IBM, Dr. Argyres was likewise elected as a member of the Greek Academy of Sciences and the Greek Academy of New York.
Throughout his career, Dr. Argyres has been incredibly proud of his students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard University and Northeastern University, who all went on to receive doctorate degrees. As a respected voice in his field, he has contributed to numerous articles published in professional journals over the years. He maintains his professional affiliation with the American Physical Society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Academy of Athens, Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Honor Society and the Phi Beta Kappa Society.
