SAN ANTONIO, TX, June 15, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Joyce Carol Norene has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
As the daughter of a minister and a college professor, Dr. Norene has long felt inspired to follow a similar path. Driven to serve as an educator, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English through Union University in 1967 before becoming an English instructor. Throughout the course of her 30-year high school teaching career, she taught at Glencliff High School, Hume-Fogg Academic High School, Whites Creek High School, Shiloh High School, Oconee High School, and Etowah High School. She furthered her educational expertise, earning a Master's of English Education and a Doctor of Education from the University of Georgia in 1994 and 2004, respectively.
Drawing on her considerable knowledge, she excels today as an adjunct professor at the Baptist University of the Americas and Wayland Baptist University where she teaches American literature, English, education, and research writing methods. To remain aware of changes in the field, Dr. Norene also earned a certification in qualitative research through the University of Georgia and aligns herself with the American Association of University Women.
In conjunction with her work in the field, Dr. Norene contributes to her community through Singing Women of South Texas. For her professional excellence, she is consistently highly rated on Rate My Professor and has been honored in Who's Who of American High School Teachers for 20 years. Though her career has been suffused with highlights, she is most proud to have touched lives and inspired her students to become teachers in their own right. Within the next five years, Dr. Norene intends to become a motivational speaker, advocating for public school education.
