Bridget Bailey Lipscomb considers the highlight of her career thus far to be her involvement in the death penalty case of Paul Gregory House.

With more than two decades of professional excellence to her credit, Ms. Lipscomb has found success as an assistant director of the Environmental Torts section of the Civil Division of the U.S. Department of Justice since 2013, having previously served as a senior trial counsel and trial attorney for the same division between 2004 and 2013. A legislative counsel of the Office of U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander from 2003 until 2004, she had gained earlier distinction as a partner, an associate, a law clerk and a summer associate at Lewis, King, Krieg & Waldrop, P.C. from 1993 to 2003. Civically engaged as well, Ms. Lipscomb has also excelled to the presidency of the Women's Bar Association of the District of Columbia and she is immediate past president of the Women's Bar Association Foundation of the District of Columbia.

In order to prepare for her impressive career, Ms. Lipscomb pursued an education at Grambling State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in history and a Master's Degree in Public Administration in 1985 and 1987, respectively. She later obtained a Juris Doctorate from the College of Law of the University of Tennessee in 1994. Previously certified as a Rule 31 Mediator through the Tennessee Supreme Court, Ms. Lipscomb was additionally certified as a mediator through the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Tennessee.

In light of her exceptional undertakings, Ms. Lipscomb was presented with the Special Commendation Award and the Perseverance Award from the Civil Division of the Department of Justice. Chosen as an ambassador of the Women's Leadership Forum and a member of the Federal Magistrate Judge Selection Committee, she accepted the Annie Selwyn Knoxville Woman of the Year Award and the Trailblazer Law Award.
