Dr. Gupta is a renowned attending physician at the University Hospital at Westchester County Medical Center in Valhalla, New York since 1985. He was subsequently named as the Director of the Division of Geriatric Medicine at New York Medical in Valhalla in 1994. Dr. Gupta's recruitment to New York Medical College was initiated in 1985, whereupon he was named as an Associate Professor of Medicine. An incredibly gifted doctor and educator, he quickly advanced to a Professorship of Medicine in 1990.

Some of Dr. Gupta's other noteworthy roles in medicine have included directing the geriatric fellowship program at Westchester County Medical Center between 1994 and 2015 and serving as an attending physician at Saint Agnes Hospital in White Plains, New York from 1995 to 2005. Furthermore, he worked in the same capacity at Frank Delano Roosevelt Veterans Hospital from 1985 until 1997. Dr. Gupta was selected to serve as the Medical Director of Ruth Taylor Geriatric and Rehabilitation Institute in Hawthorne, New York for over ten years from 1985-1995.

Dr. Gupta is author/co-author of over 15 books and book chapters published in several countries including United States, United Kingdom, Germany and India. One of his books (100 short cases for the MRCP) written mainly for improving doctors' clinical skills, first published in 1983 in England has been translated in German and Turkish languages. Over the years, Dr. Gupta has published more than 85 scientific articles and made numerous presentations in major medical meetings mostly in the United States. As a tenured professor of medicine he continues to be closely involved with the teaching of younger physicians at the New York Medical College. By now he has trained thousands of physicians in the United Kingdom and the United States.

Elected as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, Dr. Gupta is also a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, the Gerontological Society in America, and the New York Academy of Medicine. In fact, he was recently honored for his 30 years of fellowship with the New York Academy of Medicine at its 170th anniversary meeting in New York City in 2017.

Dr. Gupta received a Doctor of Medicine in Rohtak, India in 1970. While pursuing his degree, he was involved in nearly every aspect of Medicine. Dr. Gupta also holds multiple certifications in Medicine and completed postgraduate training mainly in England. Grateful to several mentors, Dr. Gupta is especially appreciative of his 22 year association with Dr. William Frishman MD, MACP, Professor and Chairman of Medicine, New York Medical College, Valhalla.

A celebrated Marquis listee, he has also been cited in various editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare and Who's Who in Science and Engineering.
