Prior to embarking upon her professional path, Ms. Francis obtained a Bachelor of Science in physical therapy from Howard University in Washington, D.C. She furthered her education with a Master of Science in management and health care administration from the University of Maryland Global Campus in 2014.
Prospering as a superior physical therapist for over 20 years, Ms. Francis has practiced for 15 years at the Fort Washington Medical Center in Maryland. She has also provided excellent care at La Plata Physical Therapy, Kaiser Permanente in Washington, D.C., Oxon Hill Orthopedics in Oxon Hill, Maryland and the National Children's Center in Washington, D.C. Ms. Francis cites her greatest areas of expertise as orthopedic manual physical therapy and geriatrics.
In her present position, Ms. Francis is responsible for performing initial evaluations and follow-up protocols, developing treatment plans and working with physical therapy students as a clinical instructor. In addition, she has performed pro bono treatment at Sacred Heart Pro Bono Clinic in Washington, D.C. According to Ms. Francis, the most rewarding aspect of her profession has been observing the progress of all her patients, who continue to persevere through their treatment at different rates.
During her career Ms. Francis has been presented with the Five-Year Award for Service and Dedication from Kaiser Permanente and a Service Award from Fort Washington. In addition to citing her deep faith in her success, she cites Ms. Beth at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital as the person that most greatly influenced her career. In the coming years, she hopes to become a full-time instructor helping students reach their goals.
