Tom R. Ragland III Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Ragland III with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Ragland celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Lead a wonderful career in public service and architecture for decades, Mr. Ragland retired in 1999 after serving four years as the mayor of the City of Greenwich, Connecticut. His term in public service came on the heels of his role as founding partner and vice president of The Image Center between 1981 and 1993 and his tenure as a founding partner and vice president of The Ehrenkrantz Group and as an architect with Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill, Architects and Planners.

A community leader for years, Mr. Ragland notably chaired the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce, was on the board of directors for the Greenwich Emergency Medical Service and the Somerset Bay Condominium Association, was a member of the Greenwich Planning and Zoning Commission, and a member of the Selectmen Committee's on Parking and Traffic, Long Range Planning, Vacant Schools and the Cos Cob School Building Committee. Other activity included membership with the Greenwich Republican Roundtable and several private clubs.

Mr. Ragland served five years in the U.S. Air Force to airman second class between 1955 and 1960. To prepare for his career, he then received a Bachelor of Science in architecture and planning at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1964 and a Master of Science in architecture, hospital planning, and design at Columbia University in the graduate school of architecture in 1965.

Mr. Ragland was recognized with a Small Businessperson of the Year Award and a Certificate of Appreciation from the governor of Connecticut for his commitment in overseeing the republican committee in Greenwich. He also received numerous photography awards.
