Hanson, PhD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Hanson celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Following his 50-year tenure as a chemistry professor at Olivet Nazarene University, Dr. Hanson has been designated as a professor emeritus at the Kankakee, Illinois-based academic institution. His treasured relationship with the aforementioned private college first developed when he enrolled as a student. After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in 1957, he began teaching chemistry at Olivet Nazarene University just four years later. He eventually completed his education at Purdue University, from which he earned a PhD in 1964.

Dr. Hanson subsequently taught at Olivet Nazarene University on a full-time basis until 2000, at which point he shifted to a part-time role before retiring from teaching in 2011. As he established himself as Olivet Nazarene University's most respected chemistry professor, he was also recruited as a visiting professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1984 to 1985. Ten years prior, he was appointed as the secretary of the Illinois chapter of the American Chemical Society, which remains one of the world's largest scientific organizations.

Throughout his teaching career, Dr. Hanson has also played an active role in his hometown of Bourbonnais, Illinois. He has previously served as a judge for local elections and a former member of the village's board of auditors. Looking back on his remarkable career, Dr. Hanson is particularly proud to have helped many students succeed in their professional and personal lives alike.
