LUFKIN, TX, June 24, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Errol Rodger Kapellusch with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Kapellusch celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Kapellusch began his 40-year career in television broadcasting while serving in the United States Air Force. Thanks to his background in theater arts, his sergeant placed him in the American Forces Radio and Television Service, where he excelled from 1963 until 1967. Throughout the following seven years, he found further success as a continuity director, operations director and production director at WAOW-TV in Wausau, Wisconsin. Mr. Kapellusch was subsequently recruited as the program director for South Dakota's KXON-TV and entrusted with supervising the entire station.
From 1979 until 1983, Mr. Kapellusch thrived as an executive vice president for a variety of television stations that are located throughout the Midwest region. With a wealth of directorial experience at his disposal, Broward Cable Inc (BCI) of Broward County, Florida, appointed him as the director of operations for the following three years. In 1986, Mr. Kapellusch advanced to become the president and general manager of KTRE-TV in Lufkin, Texas, with additional responsibilities for KLTV, Tyler, Texas, where he flourished until his retirement in 2002.
Though he has been instrumental in the success of a myriad of television stations, Mr. Kapellusch is particularly proud of his time at KXON-TV, because his leadership helped the station recover after one of their broadcast towers collapsed. He attributes a great deal of his personal success to his former manager at WAOW-TV, who gave him the confidence to take on increasingly intimidating responsibilities. Due to the chaotic nature of the television business, Mr. Kapellusch is additionally very grateful to have maintained a stable career for several decades.
