Joseph Cominio Jr. Recognized by Marquis Who's Who for Excellence in Education

WEST PALM BEACH, FL, June 24, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- We are honored to announce that Joseph Cominio Jr. has been included into the distinguished Marquis "Who's Who" As in all Marquis "Who's Who" biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

For over 40 years, Mr. Cominio has found tremendous success as a Social Studies teacher in the Palm Beach County School District in the state of Florida. He was originally recruited and hired after obtaining a bachelor's degree in the Social Sciences, and graduating with honors from the School of Education at Duquesne University in 1978. Since then, Mr. Cominio has continued to thrive as a specialist in several academic areas, such as Civics and American History at some of the toughest inner city schools.

Mr. Cominio is proud to have successfully created and implemented a new Civics class curriculum for his school's seventh grade students, which is known as Civics Through Engaged Service. He believed that learning the value of good citizenship with service to the community at a younger age, would enhance the connection between the school, the community and the student. State officials, encouraged by retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, agreed to move from high school and pilot a Civics course in the middle school, and Mr. Cominio became one of the first middle school teachers in the state's history to implement this program.

In a career suffused with numerous personal highlights as well as professional awards and political recognition from Florida's local and state governments, Mr. Cominio feels gratified to have been the first member of his family to attend college. Rising from disadvantages and difficult demographics, he followed his vision to become a teacher because it would allow him to assist other children with fewer opportunities for success to chase their dreams.

Mr. Cominio annually organizes students to develop programs of remembrance for September 11th, 2001, Veteran's Day, Memorial Day, and the Holocaust. His students have participated in food and clothing drives, fundraising for our local Children's Hospital, as well as letters of hope to our soldiers as well as to our elderly in various facilities. Students under his tutelage have had unparalleled and unprecedented success both academically and socially. Mr. Cominio attributes this remarkable success to a commitment to developing the leadership of tomorrow, instilling and inspiring unrelenting dedication to serving others, and to continue to engage in problem solving in their community, county, state and country.
