In the late 80's and 90's Ms. Skye worked as a Personal Trainer and experienced a feeling of great satisfaction while helping her clients achieve a healthier lifestyle. Deep down though, Serena felt there must be more she could do to help her clients feel better about themselves and about life. Animals (especially horses) have always been another passion. By 2001 she became Certified in Equine Sports Massage and opened up shop at the Meadowlands Racetrack as an Equine performance therapist. Ms. Skye credits much of her success to the Racehorse. "Animals can teach us what books cannot, they teach us compassion. We must learn to listen with all of our senses while working with Animals." Before long Serena opened up her practice for people as well.
For over 20 years, Ms. Skye has excelled as a massage practitioner. Moreover, she has founded her own thriving wellness consultancy, Joyology 101. In her present positions, she helps clients make beneficial changes to nutrition, physical fitness and lifestyle through education and personal training. Attributing her success to her persistence, Ms. Skye considers her personal highlight as becoming a mother to two sons and her professional highlight to have been establishing Joyology 101 as it afforded her with the opportunity to help create a happy mindset in people.
Ms. Skye has received many certifications throughout her career, including in equine sports massage in 2001, sports and Swedish massage from the Healing Hands Institute and Acupressure from IGM Therapeutic in 2002, reflexology and aromatherapy from Subtle Energies Holistic Health in 2007 and two levels of reiki and ensofic ray healing from Inner Path in 2009 and 2012. She was likewise certified as a hospice doula from Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey in 2014. Furthermore, Ms. Skye completed a HeartMath clinical certification for stress, anxiety and emotional regulation in 2021.
In 2015 and 2016, Ms. Skye trained with Rose Marie Raccioppi of APOGEE Learning Enhancement Training Systems in Sound Therapy and Mindfulness. She notably counts communication, problem solving, leadership, teamwork, creativity and creative thinking, adaptability, collaboration and massage therapy among her areas of expertise. In the coming years, Ms. Skye hopes to continue enlightening people to achieve greatness and never give up.
