Greg Chambers Celebrated for Dedication to Jazz Music

Mr. Chambers channels his love of jazz into his work as a musician, recording artist, and music educator with Martin Murphy Middle School and Ann Sobrato High School

MORGAN HILL, CA, June 29, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Greg Chambers has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Saxophone Performance from the University of California, Los Angeles, (during which time he worked with the New World Symphony in Miami, the Spoleto USA Festival Orchestra and the Aspen Music Festival), Greg Chambers attended a jazz festival and quickly grew passionate about the genre.

Currently living in the San Francisco Bay Area, Mr. Chambers has released five albums to date: "A New Day," "Can't Help Myself," "After Hours," "Greg Chambers" and "City Lights" and freelances throughout the greater Bay Area with local jazz bands, top 40 bands, orchestras, and other ensembles. Due to his enduring love for music, he also excels as the Director of Bands for Martin Murphy Middle School and Ann Sobrato High School, where he has served since 2015. In order to remain aware of changes in the industry in both teaching and as a recording artist, Mr. Chambers is affiliated with Broadcast Music Inc. (BMI), Soundexchange, the California Music Educators Association (CMEA), the Santa Clara County Band Directors (SCCBDA) and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME).

Throughout the span of his career, Mr. Chambers has had the honor of performing, opening for, or collaborating with some of the best in the industry, including Evelyn "Champagne" King, Howard Hewett, Adam Hawley, Nils, Eric Darius, Julian Vaughn, Lew Laing Jr., David P. Stevens, Matt Godina, Nate Harasim and two-time Grammy winner Paul Brown. Additionally, he was published in Saxophone Journal, charted at No. 28 on the Billboard Jazz Chart in 2015, received a Saxophone Fellowship at Aspen Music Festival in 2007 and 2008 and was Valedictorian of the School or Arts and Architecture at UCLA in 2006. Though his professional journey has been filled with highlights, Mr. Chambers is most proud to have received notoriety in the smooth jazz genre - he currently averages 2,700 monthly listeners on Spotify, has been featured in smooth jazz publications, and has music in rotation on Sirius XM Watercolors (channel 66), Music Choice channel, and radio stations throughout the country. Looking toward the future, Mr. Chambers hopes to experience the continued growth and success of his career.
