Presently, Mr. Wighaus also serves as the President of the Nassau County Detectives Association.
PLAINVIEW, NY, June 30, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- John Wighaus has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. While coming of age, Mr. Wighaus deeply admired his grandfather, a detective hired in 1926 and his father, a police officer hired in 1968, by the Nassau County Police Department. Following their example, he joined the New York City Transit Police Department in 1989. In 1992, he was hired by the Nassau County Police Department and was designated a detective in 1997. Throughout the course of his time in law enforcement, Mr. Wighaus has found success with the Narcotics/Vice Bureau working as an undercover, the Criminal Intelligence Rapid Response Team and the Asset Forfeiture & Intelligence Unit.
Presently, Mr. Wighaus serves as the President of the Nassau County Detectives Association. As an active member in the law enforcement community, he also maintains involvement as the Recording Secretary of the New York State Association of PBA's while also being a member of the Police Conference of New York. Mr. Wighaus is also active in the community as he is the President of the Nassau County Detectives Charitable Foundation which assists members of the Law Enforcement community, provides scholarships to college bound students and assists local charities and community efforts.
For his efforts over the years, Mr. Wighaus has attributed his professional success to his work ethic, the people who have supported him over the years, and his determination to keep Nassau County safe. Looking toward the future, he plans to continue excelling in his role so that future generations are inspired to join the force. Mr. Wighaus' goal is to leave the Detectives Association in a better position than when he entered.
