During the Korean War, Dr. Carter served in the U.S. Navy as a medic. After the conclusion of his military service, he embarked upon his civilian career and eventually decided to specialize in pharmacology. Eminently qualified in his field, Dr. Carter received a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from the Creighton University School of Pharmacy and Health Professions.
In 1968, Dr. Carter established the Carter Drug Store. After nearly five decades of service, his pharmacy was acquired by Hayat Pharmacy. He now works as a consultant for Hayat-Carter Herbal Shoppe, now called Milwaukee Pharmacy. In 2015, Dr. Carter was presented with an honorary doctorate from the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Throughout the course of his career, he has been most proud to serve his community for several generations. In addition, he was also proud to inspire three people to further develop their pharmacy education due to the successful example he provided. As a respected voice in his field, Dr. Carter previously authored "Healing the Human Body with God's Remedies."
