Supported by years of legal expertise, Mr. Alberts excels as the senior regulatory counsel for Kemin Industries, where he supports the development and distribution of new products and ensures that sales and marketing teams execute goals in a legal fashion. Prior to obtaining his current role, he worked as a claims specialist for Nationwide Insurance between 2014 and 2016. At an earlier stage of his vocational path, Mr. Alberts gained valuable expertise as a law clerk with Farm Bureau Financial Services, where he drafted contentions for arbitration and assisted on hearings, trials, depositions and mediations, and as an RIS compliance intern for the Principal Financial Group.
Before embarking upon his professional journey, Mr. Alberts earned a Bachelor of Arts in biochemistry, cell and molecular biology and a Bachelor of Science in pharmaceutical science from Drake University. Following this accomplishment, he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Drake University in 2014. During the course of his studies in law school, Mr. Alberts was recognized as the Best Oralist in the Intellectual Property Moot Court Competition, served as the managing editor for the Journal of Agricultural Law and gave a public presentation regarding "The Copyright Alert System" through the Iowa Intellectual Property Law Association Annual Conference.
In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Mr. Alberts aligns himself with the Association of Corporate Counsel. Outside of his work, he dedicates himself to those less fortunate as a board member with the Living Faith Lutheran Church and Living History Farms, and as a board member with the operation committee for the Food Bank of Iowa. Though his career has been suffused with various highlights, he is especially proud to have written a safety dossier, through which he was able to combine his expertise in law and science in order to convince a panel of experts and the FDA review board that his product was safe enough to sell. Looking toward the future, Mr. Alberts intends to explore as many projects and fields as he can.
