Since 2018, Ms. Bowens has flourished as the owner of B&B Lifesavers, which offers training and certifications for several first aid procedures, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), basic life support (BLS) and the utilization of automated health defibrillators (AED). Though her classes are open to individuals from all professional backgrounds, she regularly provides vital certifications and re-certifications to the public, nurses and various other health care workers. Prior to her success with B&B Lifesavers, Ms. Bowens excelled as a house manager at Blick Center. During this period, the Akron, Ohio-based mental health clinic enrolled her in CPR training courses so she could eventually teach the procedure to new employees. Ms. Bowens subsequently completed additional training through the American Red Cross to become a certified instructor in BLS and the utilization of AED, which are designed to treat life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias.
In addition to her responsibilities at B&B Lifesavers, Ms. Bowens teaches the courses via American Safety and Health Institute as well. Since she currently teaches B&B Lifesavers courses from her home, she intends to relocate the business into an office building within the coming years. Ms. Bowens also intends to significantly expand her customer base and help more people acquire skills that are capable of saving lives.
