Ms. Moore enjoyed a fulfilling career in education that spanned for more than four decades. As a teacher, her expertise resided in creative writing and special education, primarily in dealing with emotional problems. Having taught at many schools throughout her career, her tenure as a special education teacher at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita, California, which spanned from 1979 until 1998, was her most prominent and impactful. Additional positions to Ms. Moore's credit include a special education teacher position at Valencia High School, where she served between 1998 and her retirement in 2003.
Prior to embarking upon her professional journey, Ms. Moore received an education at the University of Northern Colorado. She completed her undergraduate studies in 1964, where she received a Bachelor of Arts. She would further her education at the aforementioned university later in life, earning a Master of Arts in 1978. Ms. Moore is also a certified fine arts teacher, as well as a learning handicapped specialist and a resource specialist.
Inspired by her time as a creative writing teacher at Saugus High School, Ms. Moore is also an experienced and practiced poet. Throughout the course of her career, she has authored hundreds of poems, and strives to write every single day.
