Prior to her success at Sins Gastrobar, Ms. Oropeza thrived in various positions within the restaurant industry for more than a decade.
Ms. Oropeza first learned to cook under the tutelage of her grandmother and father, both of whom possessed a vast knowledge of recipes that originated in their native Venezuela as well as Spain. After immigrating to the United States in 2007, she began with working in the industry's front of the house for a few years before commencing her culinary path. Once she started her career, she continued practicing and preparing at home, later to earn an associate degree after two years. Following her success in her chosen profession, she extended her knowledge by also triumphing with a mixology degree. Once she became comfortable working in restaurant kitchens, she developed a passion for the service aspect of the industry as well. Ms. Oropeza attributes her success to her desire to provide customers with an unforgettable experience from the moment when they walk through the restaurant's doors until they leave.

The nomination was extremely meaningful for Ms. Oropeza, because it signified that her team had succeeded in creating a positive reputation for the restaurant by placing tremendous value on customer service.
