Dr. Bernard Yin Yeung has contributed widely cited articles to top scholarly journals in finance, economics, strategy, and international business.

Aligned with the National University of Singapore for the past 13 years, Dr. Yeung is a Stephen Riady Distinguished Professor and former dean on campus. Although he is no longer involved in administration, he continues to teach finance and strategic management in the business school. The National University of Singapore is recognized as one of the top research universities in the world, and Dr. Yeung notes that it has been an honor to teach there. In addition to his responsibilities in academia, Dr. Yeung has served as President of the Asian Bureau of Finance and Economic Research since 2014.

Dr. Yeung, who previously held several other academic appointments in the United States, notably taught at New York University (NYU) Stern School of Business as the Abraham Krasnoff Professor in Global Business, Economics and Management. He was also involved as the inaugural director of the NYU China House. Dr. Yeung was a faculty member of the University of Michigan from 1988 to 1999, where he taught international business and was the area research director of the William Davidson Institute. Furthermore, he spent several years in Canada at the University of Alberta as an assistant and associate professor. He was also East China Normal University's advisory professor from 2005-2008. Dr. Yeung boasts nearly 40 years of academic experience.

Alongside his tenure in academia, Dr. Yeung was active on various committees, such as the advisory committee of the Institute of Economics-Academia Sinica. He served in Singapore's Economic Strategy Committee and as a member of the Financial Research Council of the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Since 2016, he has played an instrumental role as an independent, non-executive director of the Bank of China Aviation Limited and as a member of the Advisory Board of Healthway Medical Corporation Ltd.

As a scholar, Dr. Yeung has conducted extensive research in Financial Economics, International Economics, Strategic Management and International Business and he has contributed widely cited articles to top scholarly journals in finance, economics, strategy, and international business. He was also an associate editor for the Journal of International Studies and an associate editor for Management Science. As a part of his civic commitments, he founded the Business Scholar Network and the Aspen Corporation of Society Responsibility in China.

An alumnus of the University of Western Ontario in Canada, Dr. Yeung received a Bachelor of Arts in economics and mathematics business administration in 1979. He then transferred to the University of Chicago, where he completed both a Master of Business Administration in 1981 and a Doctor of Philosophy in 1984 in their Graduate School of Business.

Dr. Yeung was elected a fellow of the Academy of International Business, where he also served as vice president from 2000 to 2002. He is a valued member of several other leading industry-related organizations, including the Association of Asia-Pacific Business Schools as a member, former vice president and past president. Others professional organizational memberships to his credit include the American Finance Association, the American Economic Association, the Academy of International Business, and the Academy of Management.

Recently honored in 2018, Dr. Yeung received a Public Administration Silver Medal in Singapore. As a teacher, he received recognition with an Irwin Outstanding Educator Award from the Academy of Management in 2013, an Excellence in Teaching Award from the Executive Education Program of NYU's Stern School of Business in 2002, and a Teacher Excellence Award from the University of Michigan Business School in 1997. Among other recognitions, Dr. Yeung was named a Lim Kim San Distinguished Visitor at National Singapore University in 2005. A celebrated Marquis listee, he has been cited in the 61st through 63rd editions of Who's Who in America and the 39th edition of Who's Who in the World.
