Alexandre Lacasse MD, FACP, MSc Gets the Star Treatment!

Dr. Lacasse furthered his skills in medicine for the greater good of helping others

WILDWOOD, MO, July 23, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Alexandre Lacasse MD, FACP, MSc has participated in The Star Treatment, a prestigious video series hosted by renowned lawyer and television personality, Star Jones. This premier video series is extremely limited — Marquis Who's Who qualifies 500 listees on an annual basis for this elite service. Backed by a storied career in media that spans more than two decades, Star works closely with Marquis listees to assist with networking goals and commemorative efforts that can be shared with a worldwide audience.

As a medical professional with a distinguished background in helping others, Dr. Lacasse seeks to use science to make a positive difference in the lives of other people. Most doctors are asked for the reason they decided to enter medicine, and so Dr. Lacasse had his answer ready right away: he was always fascinated by the way things work from start to finish, particularly with regard to the human body. With that in mind, he took a natural interest in the sciences, especially health sciences and biochemistry. As an undergraduate, he narrowed his focus on biology to a passion for understanding how different organs worked together within the human body.

To find his specialty as a medical practitioner, Dr. Lacasse reflected on his original thoughts entering the field. According to Dr. Lacasse, many medical students enter the field with a very idealistic mindset. They are under the impression that they can change the world by themselves, when the more practical approach would be to move into a field that is an extension of their studies, so they can build upon their strengths and minimize their weaknesses. That is what Dr. Lacasse decided to do when he moved into cardiovascular medicine, a decision that struck a chord with Star, who is herself a heart disease survivor. He feels that, although cardiovascular medicine was not necessarily his calling, it was his strongest pull in medical school, and it gave him his start in the industry.

While he was serving his subspecialty fellowship, Dr. Lacasse was selected to hold a leadership role, a sort of chief fellow, due to the talent he displayed in his work. Later, as a resident, he took up mentoring as a way to pass his skills and knowledge on to others, and it was that experience that led him to becoming a program director later in his career. As an administrator, Dr. Lacasse feels that he is being the best clinician that he can be, as he is able to use his medical knowledge in conjunction with what is known as a system-based practice to bring team members together toward the achievement of a common goal.

As someone with extensive training in the treatment of infectious diseases, Dr. Lacasse feels that the COVID-19 pandemic has been an extraordinary time, to say the least. Though no medical professional is happy to face a serious worldwide disease, it nonetheless presented an exhilarating challenge to Dr. Lacasse. It served as the ultimate test of the Hippocratic Oath. On the front lines, every medical professional would be called to fulfill their oaths and serve the greater good, and he is happy to say that he met that challenge. His patient-centric mindset served him well in that regard, and in fact he feels that that is one aspect of healthcare that every professional should hold sacred. "Do the right thing when nobody is watching," said Dr. Lacasse, "It's not about how you can show it off, but how good you can do on a daily basis." With a compassionate heart and a passion for helping others, Dr. Lacasse is most definitely a worthy recipient of the Star Treatment.
